01

About these terms

These terms apply when you use this website, apply to The BlackNight Group (TBN Group) or one of its open roles, or use a member account in the Student Hub or the admin console. By doing any of those, you agree to them.

If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site or apply.

02

Applying

Applying is free and there are no fees or tuition to join the programme. You need to give us accurate information and apply on your own behalf; if you apply as a team, you confirm your teammates are happy for you to share their details.

We select founders at our own discretion. Applying doesn’t guarantee a place, a meeting or a reply, and we don’t have to give reasons for a decision.

03

The programme

If you’re selected, we’ll tell you the dates, place and format of the intensive. We may change, move or cancel sessions when we need to, and we’ll tell you as early as we can.

We expect everyone to treat other founders, the team and our guests with respect. We can remove anyone from the programme, a session or the Student Hub for harassment, dishonesty or behaviour that puts others at risk.

04

Your ideas and your work

Your ideas, code, designs and company stay yours. Applying to us or taking part in the intensive doesn’t give us any ownership of them.

We treat applications and pitch material as confidential and only share them with the people who help run the programme. We can’t sign confidentiality agreements at the application stage, so please don’t send us anything you couldn’t share in that setting.

If we go on to build a venture with you, or invest in it, that will be agreed separately and in writing, with its own terms.

05

Investment and BlackLight Capital

Nothing on this website is an offer of investment, a promise of funding or financial advice. BlackLight Capital, our venture arm, is not yet open; any investment it makes will be decided case by case and set out in separate legal agreements.

06

Opportunities and roles

Roles listed on the site are invitations to apply. Nothing becomes a job, contract or paid engagement until we confirm it to you in writing.

07

Member accounts

If we give you an account in the Student Hub or the admin console, keep your password and two-step codes to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Accounts are personal and are only for taking part in the programme. We can suspend or close an account that is misused, and we close accounts when someone leaves the programme.

08

Using the website

Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break in, overload it, scrape it in bulk, upload malicious code or submit applications that aren’t genuine.

The website’s content, design and brand, including The BlackNight Group name and the BN mark, belong to us. You can link to the site and share its pages, but you can’t copy or reuse the brand or the content commercially without our permission.

09

Liability

We provide the website and the programme with care, but we can’t promise the site will always be available or free of errors, or that taking part will lead to a particular result for your company.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10

Privacy

How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy notice.

Changes and the law
